Founded in 1969, The Wild Goose Studio is a small family company, which seeks its inspiration in the world of the imagination. We aspire to William Blake's aim: "To open the Eternal Worlds, to open the immortal Eyes Of Man inwards into the Worlds of Thought, in to Eternity Ever expanding in the Bosom of God, the Human Imagination." The greater resource of the imagination is poorly recognized in rational thought. The Learning of the Imagination is a task marvellously achieved by W.B. Yeats, the great Irish poet and scholar. We try to make that our ideal. By drawing on mythology, symbols, stories, images and poetry, we access the richness of shared memory and show it in visual design, to provoke the imagination. Our designs include studies of existing sculptures, developments of them and original creations by our own artists. Each re-imagines the past, present and so the future. We draw particularly on the resources of Ireland and the Celt, yet remain open to the eternal and evocative, wherever beauty of perception occurs. The Wild Goose Studio is a team of artists and craft-workers who take pride in producing objects of beauty with that creative spark. Gifts from the Studio appeal to those who look beyond the immediate, beneath the surface, and into the image. Let The Wild Goose Studio give wings to your imagination. The Wild Goose Studio: gifts for the imagination.
Gallen Priory Cross
The myth and symbol caught in this design, timeless and extraordinarily powerful, is based on a stone carving we found in the quiet garden of the priory. We have had letters from all over the world enthusing over the cryptic symbolism, which we attempt to interpret in the label that comes on the back, (a feature common to all our work).

Celtic Love Cross
To make this design the artist, Kathleen Smyth, immersed herself in the writings of the French priest, scientist and prophet Teilhard de Chardin. The four Celtic panels signify the essence of his thought about love between man and woman. 'The day will come when, after mastering the winds, the tides, gravity, we shall master the energies of love ... and then, for te second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire' (woman has discovered it already?).

Celtic Cross of Journey and Meetings
Life's journey brings a multitude of opportunities and personal encounters. This cross is a symbol of the importance of life's meetings. "People destined to meet will do so apparently by chance, at precisely the right moment." - Emerson's Law of Spiritual Gravitation.

Circle and Cross
The difference between sacred and profane time is something most people sense. Profane time is about movement and activity. Sacred time is the still point at the centre of the turning circle.
